UNIQUE or UNIVERSAL

I have a body, and it has the same characteristics as other human bodies. Same organs, same limbs, etc. Yet my body and that of everyone else is unique. Two extremes are true at the same time. This applies to much more. Where we are regularly taught to think in terms of choosing one of two extremes, it is often the case that they are equally true at the same time.

This is also the case with free will, for example. It is not a question of whether humans have it or not. Every human being has free will, but it is also nourished or determined by others and by their own subconscious processes. So it is not a question of whether humans have free will or not, but to what extent they have freedom of will. This is mainly determined by the degree of self-awareness.

This requires us to think beyond duality.

The process of spiritual awakening is just as much a very personal and unique process as it is a universal process.
